Cobalt
Rescue
Based on a Landrover 130 (Quadtech bodied) V8 petrol with an LPG conversion fitted, the original idea for Cobalt rescue was to provide safety and rescue cover for off-road 4 x 4 events, but given it's multi-surface flexibility combined with its V8 engine, it proved very useful at all other types of events and now covers every kind of 4 wheel motor sport event. Usually crewed with up to 5 persons plus a Paramedic / Doctor, Cobalt rescue carries a lot of the equipment found on county fire service rescue tenders which includes, fire fighting media, a combined hydraulic cutting and spreading tool. Similarly, it also carries a comprehensive range of equipment to that of front line ambulances, tuned for the motor sport environment.

Ranges of communications systems are available including rally 81, hands free phone, rescue-services inter-safety unit radio system to link it with our other Rescue Unit and Stage Safety Units and a 2m/70cm amateur radio (M3IQK).
Cobalt Rescue is similarly designed to integrate with the seven (current) rescue-services Stage Safety Units (SSU's) of Cobalt Response, Flashpoint Response, Panther Response, Platinum Response, Severn Response, Blackdown Response and Sabre Response, carrying similar medical equipment along with the same crews, very handy for organisers looking for a comprehensive safety service. While Cobalt Rescue has been set up as a rescue ambulance it must not be forgotten that the unit is not a business and that those involved are volunteers undertaking a sport they enjoy out of their own pockets.
