Flashpoint
Response
Flashpoint Response is an MSA licensed Stage Safety Unit (SSU) based around a 6 wheel Range Rover 3.5 Litre Petrol Fire Engine, formally of the Royal Air Force Fire and Rescue Service.
As an SSU, Flashpoint Response is designed to provide rapid medical and Fire intervention to either maintain scene safety until a Rescue unit arrives or act as a triage unit and filter multiple casualties. The equipment carried by an SSU is similar to that associated with ambulances and paramedics. The medical equipment ranges from basic bandages through to intravenous drips and everything in between. Mechanical equipment carried ranges from stabilising systems to fire extinguishers. Flashpoint Response also has the capability to deal with the more serve fires with its 1000 litres of on board water and high output pump. The water can also be mixed with foam concentrate to make available 1000 Litres of foam in appropriate concentrations.

The crew of Flashpoint Response hold First Aid at Work certificates along with qualifications allowing the administration of Oxygen and Entonox if required. Being part of Rescue-Services has meant Flashpoint Response and its crew have undergone a great deal of training and integration with the rescue units within the group thus enabling an effective relationship to develop, should an unfortunate motor sport incident occur, we work extremely well together. While Flashpoint Response has been set up as a Fire and Medical intervention unit it must not be forgotten that the unit is not a business and that those involved are volunteers undertaking a sport they enjoy.
Flashpoint Response carries a wide range of communication equipment including MSA Radio, rescue-services inter-safety unit radio system to link it with our rescue units, hands free mobile phone, 2m / 70cm amateur radio and Airwaves once introduced to county Fire and Rescue Services. This gives Flashpoint Response's Crew the ability to rapidly assess a situation and call for the appropriate support required.
